A Filipina who worked as an entertainer in Japan got the surprise of her life when she got back the wallet she lost at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Terminal 2) seven months ago with P93,000 in Philippines peso and Japanese yen intact.

Marilyn Vallada of Nueva Ecija could not contain her joy when NAIA Assistant General Manager Arnulfo Junio of the Lost and Found section turned over the wallet to her Wednesday afternoon.

Vallada said she discovered her wallet was missing upon reaching home in Nueva Ecija. Upon arrival at Terminal 2 last November, she said she went to the restroom before heading for home. She said she had lost all hope to recover her hard earned money.

To her surprise, Vallada received a phone call from Junio’s staff Wednesday morning informing her that her wallet was in their possession. The Lost and Found section traced Vallada when they inquired from the Philippine Airlines ticketing office.

The money would have been forfeited in favor of the government if Vallada was not traced.

Junio said they exhaust all means to make sure that items lost within the airport are returned to their rightful owners.
