On the eve of his historic meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, US President Donald Trump today got to celebrate an early birthday in Singapore.

A cake was brought out during the working lunch held at the Istana today between government officials from Singapore and the United States — an early festivity for Trump, whose birthday falls on Thursday. The 45th US president will be turning 72 years old soon and really loves his desserts by the way, with chocolate cake once being at the center of a presidential reverie on bombing Syria. No, really.

Trump, perhaps surprisingly, has yet to tweet anything about his day in Singapore so far outside of feeling “excitement in the air,” though the president is known as more of a late-night tweeter.

The man attended a meeting and a working lunch earlier this afternoon, hosted by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. “I think things could work out very nicely. We appreciate your hospitality and professionalism and friendship,” Trump reportedly said to PM Lee. ”You’re my friend.”

Then there’s this video montage of the session at the Istana with an “inspiring” soundtrack to boot.

Cake wasn’t the only thing Trump and the rest of the US delegation were treated to today. According to a photo shared by Education Minister Ong Ye Kung, the likes of lobster bisque, Angus beef tenderloin and chendol ice-cream were served during the lunch. Let’s just hope for everyone’s sake that not everyone’s tenderloin was prepared in the insanely well-done fashion Trump enjoys it. We can’t see a ketchup bottle anywhere on the table but suspect it was at the ready nearby.
