The Filipino community in Singapore feted the maiden visit of the Santo Niño de Cebu to Singapore – it’s first international voyage outside the Philippines – in time for the third Sinulog Festival celebrated here for the third year now last Jan 22.
WELCOME, SEÑOR! This year’s Sinulog marked the pilgrim icon of the Santo Niño de Cebu’s milestone journey from Cebu to Singapore – it’s first ever sojourn outside the Philippines.
His Grace Bishop Edwin de la Peña of the prelature of Marawi City (together with Fr. Charlie Oasan f Singapore) celebrated the culminating mass with Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu clergy led by Fr. Tito Soquiño and Fr. Pacifico Nohara, Rector of the Basilica.
Feast Day High Mass: An estimated 2,500 devotees flocked to the OLPS church to join the Mass and festivities.
